| Summary: | One group of tests was done to determine the effect of storage in different relative humidities on the sonic modulus of elasticity for each of three grades of concrete. A second group of tests examined the effect on the sonic modulus of the temperature of the specimen. It was found that the modulus of elasticity increases with increases in humidity and with decreases in temperature, Poisson's ratio is decreased in low humidities and high temperatures. Usually it was found that the magnitude of the change in the elastic properties was greater with stronger, richer concretes. |
